Agreement

These terms apply to the Captiod iOS app, its share extension and captiod.com (together, “Captiod”), operated by Captiod. By using Captiod you agree to them. If you download Captiod from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms for the app, Apple’s agreement controls.

What Captiod does

Captiod lets you share links to posts you can already view, such as Instagram Reels and posts and TikTok videos, and turns them into organized information for your personal use. Captiod is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok or ByteDance Ltd.

Your content and other people’s content

• Posts you share belong to their creators. Captiod keeps a breakdown of a post for your own reference. It does not give you rights to the creator’s content, and you should not use Captiod to copy, republish or distribute someone else’s work.
• Only share posts you are allowed to view, and only add text you have the right to use.
• You keep any rights you have in the text you add. You give us permission to store and process it to provide Captiod to you.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Captiod to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, access content you are not permitted to view, attack or overload our systems, scrape or resell the service, or get around rate limits or security measures.

AI results

Captiod uses AI to analyze posts. Results can be incomplete or wrong. Links come only from the post or from real search results, but the pages they lead to are run by others and we are not responsible for them. Captiod does not give medical, fitness, financial, legal or other professional advice. Check anything important before you rely on it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Captiod available, but it may sometimes be interrupted, and some posts cannot be read at all. We may change, add or remove features. If paid features are offered, they will be sold through the App Store and their price and terms will be shown before you buy.

Ending use

You can stop using Captiod at any time and ask us to erase your data (see Delete your data). We may suspend access if you break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.

Disclaimers and liability

Captiod is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Captiod is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Captiod. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Captiod after a change means you accept it.
