Quick fixes
Captiod is not in the Share sheet
- 1Open Instagram or TikTok and tap Share on any post.
- 2Scroll the row of apps to the end and tap More.
- 3Tap Edit, then add Captiod to your favorites so it shows up first.
A save says it needs a caption
- 1Private posts and some public ones cannot be opened automatically.
- 2Open the save in Captiod and paste the caption, or write a few lines about the post.
- 3Captiod analyzes it again from what you added. Your save is kept the whole time.
A save failed
- 1Open the save and tap retry. A failure is often temporary.
- 2If it keeps failing, add the caption as above.
- 3Still stuck? Email us with the link you shared and roughly when you saved it.
Saves are not updating
- 1Check your connection. Saves made offline wait on your phone and sync when you are back.
- 2Pull down on the Library to refresh.
- 3Analysis usually takes under a couple of minutes per post.
Common questions
Which links work?
Instagram Reels, Instagram posts (including carousels, where Captiod reads every slide) and TikTok videos. Share them straight from the app with the Share button, or paste a link into Captiod.
What happens when Captiod can't read a post?
Private posts and some public ones can't be opened automatically. Captiod tells you plainly instead of guessing. Paste the caption, or a few lines about the post, and it builds the breakdown from that. Your save is kept either way.
Does it work offline?
Sign-in and account verification need a connection. Once signed in, saves made offline are kept on your phone for syncing when you reconnect. Open Captiod to sync posts saved from the share extension.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Delete any save or conversation in the app. To erase your account and its data, open Settings and choose Delete account and data.
