What Captiod reads
The video itself, including what is shown on screen, plus the caption. For an Instagram carousel it reads every slide in order. For a photo post it reads the image.
What it gives back
A clean title and summary, why it matters, key facts, steps with honest time estimates, copyable prompts and code, and the products, places, tools and books the post names. Sections that do not apply are left out.
Where links come from
Only from the post, or from a real search result whose title matches the thing it names. The AI cannot write a URL, so a link can never lead somewhere invented.
When it can't read a post
Private posts and some public ones cannot be opened automatically. Captiod marks the save as needing a caption. Paste it, or a few lines of your own, and the breakdown builds from that.
Where it goes
Into your library, filed into a category with tags. Search it, favorite it, archive it, move steps onto today's Plan, or ask about it later.
Without a connection
A share made offline is kept on your phone and sent for analysis when you're back online, so nothing gets lost on the subway.
Common questions
How do I save something to Captiod?
In Instagram or TikTok, tap Share on the post and choose Captiod. That is the whole step. If Captiod is not in the row of apps, tap More and turn it on once. You can also copy the link and paste it into Captiod.
Which links work?
Instagram Reels, Instagram posts (including carousels, where Captiod reads every slide) and TikTok videos. Share them straight from the app with the Share button, or paste a link into Captiod.
What happens when Captiod can't read a post?
Private posts and some public ones can't be opened automatically. Captiod tells you plainly instead of guessing. Paste the caption, or a few lines about the post, and it builds the breakdown from that. Your save is kept either way.
Does Captiod keep a copy of the video?
No. To understand a public post, Captiod's servers fetch it, analyze it and delete the video file straight away. Captiod keeps the breakdown and the post's cover image so your library looks like the posts you saved.
