Straight answers about what Captiod does, what it keeps and what it won't do.
What does Captiod do?
You share a Reel, post or TikTok to Captiod. It watches the post, reads the caption and on-screen text, and gives you the useful part: a short summary, the steps to follow, prompts and code you can copy, the facts worth keeping, and the products, places, tools and books it mentions. Every save is filed into your library automatically.
Which links work?
Instagram Reels, Instagram posts (including carousels, where Captiod reads every slide) and TikTok videos. Share them straight from the app with the Share button, or paste a link into Captiod.
How do I save something to Captiod?
In Instagram or TikTok, tap Share on the post and choose Captiod. That is the whole step. If Captiod is not in the row of apps, tap More and turn it on once. You can also copy the link and paste it into Captiod.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Create a Captiod account and verify your email to keep your library private and available across devices. We never ask for your Instagram or TikTok login.
What happens when Captiod can't read a post?
Private posts and some public ones can't be opened automatically. Captiod tells you plainly instead of guessing. Paste the caption, or a few lines about the post, and it builds the breakdown from that. Your save is kept either way.
Are the links real?
Yes. Links come only from the post itself or from real search results. The AI is never allowed to write a web address, so Captiod will not send you to a page that does not exist. When no trustworthy link turns up, you get the name without a link.
Does Captiod keep a copy of the video?
No. To understand a public post, Captiod's servers fetch it, analyze it and delete the video file straight away. Captiod keeps the breakdown and the post's cover image so your library looks like the posts you saved.
What are Plan and Ask?
Plan gathers the unfinished steps buried in your saves and turns them into a realistic list for today, which you can reorder. Ask lets you question your whole library in plain words, like "what was that pasta recipe?", and answers from your own saves, showing which ones it used.
Does it work offline?
Sign-in and account verification need a connection. Once signed in, saves made offline are kept on your phone for syncing when you reconnect. Open Captiod to sync posts saved from the share extension.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Delete any save or conversation in the app. To erase your account and its data, open Settings and choose Delete account and data.
Is Captiod part of Instagram or TikTok?
No. Captiod is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, TikTok or ByteDance.
Which devices does Captiod run on?
Captiod is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad. There is no Android or web version yet.
