Delete a save or a conversation
You can do this yourself, at any time, in the app:
- Open the save or the conversation in Captiod.
- Choose delete.
This removes it from your phone and from our servers, including a save’s analysis and cover image. A save deleted while you are offline is removed from our servers as soon as you reconnect. Deleting a conversation needs a connection.
Erase everything Captiod holds for you
Open Settings, then choose Delete account and data. If asked, sign out and sign in again to confirm it is you. Confirm deletion to remove your account, saves, plan tasks, categories and conversations. Sessions on all devices are revoked. Cover images are queued for deletion by our background worker. This cannot be undone.
If you cannot access the app:
- Email privacy@captiod.com with the subject “Delete my Captiod data”.
- Write from your account email address. We may ask you to verify ownership before deleting account data.
- We erase the data and reply to confirm, within 30 days and usually much sooner.
Deleting the app
Removing Captiod from your phone deletes the copy of your library stored on the device. It does not delete the data on our servers, so send an erase request as well if you want everything gone.
What is not kept
Video files are never kept: they are deleted as soon as a post is analyzed. Short-lived rate-limiting counters expire within about a day, and hosting logs expire under our providers’ retention periods. See the Privacy Policy for details.
